About us
The Fort Institute of Photography is a foundation whose statutory goal is to support Polish photography. The two cornerstones of our work, ongoing since 2016 at our headquarters in Fort Mokotów, are made up of the gallery and the reading room, exemplifying our two main activities: hosting exhibitions and educational projects.
GALLERY
We organise, on average, six exhibitions each year, ranging from solo exhibitions and group shows that touch on contemporary issues and everything that relates to the "here and now" and to Central European identity, understood in the broadest sense.
The IFF Gallery is located in building no. 4.
Opening hours: Wed - Fri: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Sat-Sun: noon to 6:00 PM.

EDUCATION
We host a range of educational activities, including workshops with renowned photographers such as Rob Hornstra and Simon Norfolk, as well as well-known local photographers. We organise guided tours of our exhibitions and the special events accompanying them. Rounding out the list of our most important activities in the field of education is ‘The School of Looking’, established in 2018 and partly funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
READING ROOM
Every day, we provide public access to a reading room, which holds a collection of over 1,500 publications on photography, including monographies, exhibition catalogs, historical and theoretical studies and magazines. The reading room is available free of charge, without any registration or any age restrictions.

IFF SHOP
The IFF store, opened in 2019 (online since 2020), plays a similar role to that of Studio 99 in helping to support our initiatives. Here, you can find books on photography, buy posters and limited-edition prints produced by the IFF.
