Accessibility Statement

The Fort Photography Institute Foundation (IFF) is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities.

Digital accessibility status

The IFF website theme has been developed in line with WCAG 2.1 requirements (levels A and AA), including keyboard navigation, semantic structure, forms, interactive components, and screen reader support. A WAVE audit confirmed no critical errors or contrast issues.

The website is partially compliant with the Act on digital accessibility due to the following issues or exemptions.

Non-accessible content:

  • Some images and graphics lack alternative texts,
  • Some texts and multimedia content do not have audio descriptions,
  • Część materiałów wideo nie posiada napisów,
  • Some videos do not include captions,
  • There are links to external resources with limited accessibility,
  • Headings are not always correctly marked in the text.

Work is ongoing to provide alternative descriptions for all graphic elements and expand audio descriptions to achieve full compliance with WCAG 2.1 (levels A and AA).

Requests should be addressed promptly, no later than within 7 days. If accessibility cannot be provided within this period, we will inform you of the reason and provide a new deadline, which will not exceed 2 months.

Appeal procedure

If a request for accessibility or an alternative method of access is denied, the requester may file a complaint regarding digital accessibility of the website or its elements. After exhausting this procedure, a complaint may also be submitted to the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights (www.rpo.gov.pl).

Physical accessibility

  • The IFF gallery is located on the ground floor and free of architectural barriers.
  • The path to the entrance may have uneven surfaces due to the historic structure of Fort Mokotów.
  • The reading room is located on the first floor and can only be accessed by stairs. Visitors unable to access it due to architectural barriers may request assistance from IFF staff to access selected publications on the ground floor or to have materials provided for consultation. Assistance is offered subject to the institution’s organisational capabilities.
  • The restroom is located on the gallery’s ground floor but is not suitably adapted for people with disabilities.
