On 16 September 2026, Fort Institute of Photography will open exhibitions by two artists whose work is separated by almost half a century, but connected by the belief that light is not only a tool, but also a fascinating subject in photography. Both exhibitions explore light, colour, reflections, and form.

In Michał Siarek’s latest project, light moves through the landscape, shaping the rhythm of life at the northern edge of Europe. In Michał Diament’s work, it settles on the surface of glass, passes through it, and breaks the visible world into reflections and abstract compositions.

The two exhibitions come together in the IFF space as a kind of optical diptych. The first explores a vanishing technology and the experience of a place that can never be recreated. The second brings a forgotten, interdisciplinary artistic practice back into view through the artist’s archive, revealing how photography and glass sculpture served as two tools for the same exploration of form.
