FORT INSTITUTE OF PHOTOGRAPHY (IFF)
Effective as of 11 February 2026
§1. General provisions
- These Terms of Use set out the rules for visiting and participating in events organised by the Fort Photography Institute Foundation (IFF), located in Warsaw (02-634) at Fort Mokotów, 6 Władysława Szpilmana Street.
- These Terms apply to all persons on IFF premises, including visitors, event participants, organized groups, and anyone using the institution’s facilities.
- Entering the IFF premises constitutes acceptance of these Terms of use.
§2. Visiting rules
- Visits can be self-guided or conducted as part of tours led by IFF staff or authorised personnel.
- Admission to most exhibitions organised by IFF is free, unless otherwise stated for a specific event.
- Certain events, particularly workshops, guided tours, or meetings, require registration or an entry ticket, as indicated in the event details.
- Visitors are expected to take care, respect the exhibition spaces, and follow the instructions and guidance of IFF staff.
- IFF reserves the right to temporarily close parts of the premises or exhibitions for technical or organisational reasons.
§3. Safety rules
- On IFF premises, the following are strictly prohibited:
- bringing weapons, hazardous materials, or any items that may pose a danger,
- touching exhibits or installation elements, unless otherwise indicated,
- running, making excessive noise, or engaging in any behaviour that disrupts the visit or may cause damage.
- Children under 12 may only be present in exhibitions when accompanied by an adult.
- IFF staff have the right to warn visitors who breach these rules or to request that they leave the premises, without entitlement to a ticket refund.
- In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow the instructions of IFF staff and the relevant safety personnel.
§4. Photography and filmng
- Photography for personal use is permitted, provided that flash, tripods, or additional lighting are not used.
- Photography or filming for commercial, professional, or media purposes requires prior permission from IFF.
- For exhibitions containing works protected by copyright, IFF staff may request that visitors stop recording images.
§5. Conduct on IFF premises
- Alcohol consumption is prohibited on gallery premises, except at events where IFF permits it.
- Guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed.
- Other animals may only be brought on-site if they do not pose a danger or disrupt visits; IFF staff will make the final decision.
- Anyone behaving aggressively, under the influence of alcohol, or posing a safety risk may be asked to leave the premises.
§6. Accessibility
- The IFF gallery is located on the ground floor and is free of architectural barriers.
- The path leading to the entrance may have uneven surfaces due to the historical structure of Fort Mokotów.
- The IFF reading room is located on the first floor and can only be accessed by stairs. Visitors who are unable to use the reading room due to architectural barriers may ask staff for assistance in accessing selected publications on the ground floor or for materials to be provided for consultation. Assistance is provided subject to the institution’s organisational capabilities.
- The restroom is located on the gallery’s ground floor but is not suitably adapted for people with disabilities.
